Closing the Account

Hey, everyone!
So I've been thinking and I really never visit dA anymore, and several of you with whom I talked the most have accounts on other social media (on Tumblr or Facebook) which I followed/friended. I think I am going to close out this account after downloading any work worth saving first. If you want to stay in touch, please follow either my silly multifandom tumblr at merlsemrys (which is currently at mistletoemerls but I've set up a redirect) OR my much less silly/less personal photoblog at douxbillet. I answer messages at both. If you think we're close friends, send me a message and I'll consider adding you on facebook. That is my personal account though, so obviously I'm going to be a little more selective! I also have a twitter but I use that less than I use dA, so it's not worth following
I might change the nature of this account to only host photography, or just open a new account, not sure yet. The only reason I'm contemplating that is because someone once bought one of my prints some years ago. Of course, I've never seen a single cent of that money because I can't withdraw whatever small amount I actually get (I think the markup was something ridiculous where I kept like 30% of what the buyer paid - fuck off, dA). I don't really have my work for sale anywhere else because I haven't pursued options, but I'm thinking about it. What I might do is make a photography account and not sell prints via dA, but sell externally via some other host which pays better. This would be a good place to post them and advertise though.
Anyway, I'll be closing this probably in January once I save things. I just haven't the time to maintain a bazillion social media accounts :/

Hello again, all!
I'm not sure if anyone still reads these or knows that my profile still exists. I might very well be shouting into the void, but that's okay! I haven't been around at all and I stopped by recently to upload some of my nail art and I realized that I kind of miss dA.
I sort of grew up here, because this is where I went when I was going through the trauma of my pre-teen and early teenage years. So much word vomit and silliness! I turned twenty last month (which also means that it's been a year since my last update, when I had just turned nineteen!) Now I spend my time on the internet on tumblr, both on my fandom blog (mostly BBC Merlin fandom) and my photoblog.
I'm going into my final year of college in a month's time. I'll be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics. After that, planning to get a Master's Degree (in Public Health), and after that, a Medical Degree. In five years' time, you can call me Dr. Sheila MD MPH. Wow.
Oh! I've also deleted a lot of old photographs and artwork (not yet made inroads into the writing but I'm fond of those regardless of their quality). I never really thought I'd improved, considering I've been spending my time on other pursuits and not actively trying to improve, but a glance at my photographs then and now is really jarring. My stuff now is far more professional and sophisticated and that happened without my knowing. It's pretty rad! Thank you all for the support back then though - I joined this site more than six years ago and it's kind of amazing!

It's been approximately thirty seven centuries since I last stopped by dA, but I wanted to say hi. I haven't forgotten you lovely people! And thanks for the birthday wishes last month <3 I'm nineteen now 
I practically live on tumblr now (mah blawg), but otherwise I actually keep quite busy. I'm going into my third year at college/uni and am slowly working my way towards medical school. Which means things like MCATs and such. Keeping busy, as usual. I live in NYC now, and am chillin here this summer as well, so if any of you are nearby, a meetup would be wunderbar. Just as long as you aren't an axe murderer )
)Haven't written anything in ages and ages (except this below standard poem thing, which is bleh except for the following lines: i've been shipped so often that the post office and fedex are old hands now, my face irrevocably covered in postage stamps)
Have drawn a bit, have taken lotsa photos, done a fair amount of nail art. I post things on instagram (which I use for art because I dun like selfies). If you're interested, I'm sheilak894!
I might put stuff up here again, I don't want to close the account. Does anyone want to see photos or art on here?

Hello, world!
My summer is quickly but surely drawing to a close. I'm getting ready for my second year at college in New York City, taking lots of photographs, trying and failing to write, worrying about classes and internships and letters and applications (yes, already!) But I'm excited to go back. I won't miss home too much - I don't really live too far away and will probably be coming back on some weekends while my grandparents are living with us. They usually live on the other side of the planet, you see.
As for deviantart, I do miss you all. I'm going to be posting my photos here. Some will be better quality than others, and some will probably look familiar. I took some of my older photos and actually edited them a bit!
So keep a weather eye out and don't forget about me!
